With Premier League players reporting for international duty this weekend, Fantasy Premier League managers across the nation will have to fill the void of having no gameweek this weekend.
With eight games gone, the October international break gives FPL managers the opportunity to assess their team’s performances so far this season and maybe make some adjustments.
It is also at this point, fans, pundits and analysts start to look at the Premier League table seriously, especially considering they are almost a quarter of a way through the season.
In terms of FPL performance, players are scored on their goals, assists, clean sheets and are also awarded bonus points based on many aspects of their game.
Here are the top performers so far this season. They aren’t the kind of players you would expect.
32. Harry Maguire – 37 points
At the start of the season all eyes were on Harry Maguire, after an incredible summer with Englan, the Leicester man was linked with a big money move to Manchester United.
He decided to stay at Leicester and has continued his impressive form in front of goal and has already scored twice this season.
His goal at Newcastle helped his team to three points, but saw him achieve 18 points for himself!
31. Neil Etheridge – 37 points
You may be surprised to see the Cardiff goalkeeper in our top performers, but despite conceding 17 goals so far this season, he has been the Bluebirds’ best player.
His penalty save at home to Newcastle was a highlight and because he is bombarded with shots, he has plenty of opportunities to make saves and get bonus points.
30. Jonny – 38 points
Spanish wing-back Jonny who only costs £4.5 million, has made a brilliant start to life in the Premier League with Wolves.
In fact Wolves defensively have been impressive so far this season, the newly promoted club have only conceded six goals in eight games.
29. Joe Hart – 38 points
After being left out of this summer’s England World Cup squad, Joe Hart admitted he needed to do a bit of soul searching.
He moved to Burnley and thanks injuries to Nick Pope and Tom Heaton, has cemented his place as their no.1 keeper.
The Clarets have always been a strong defensive unit, so you can always rely of clean sheet bonuses.
28. Will Boly – 39 points
As mentioned Wolves have made a brilliant start to the season.
Willy Boly is the second only member of their defence that is in our top performers’ list.
