da stake casino: Crystal Palace will be looking to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat against Bournemouth when they take on Wolves later today at Selhurst Park.
da brdice: The Eagles were close to earning a point in their loss at the Vitality Stadium, only for Mamadou Sakho to give away a silly penalty towards the end of the game, which Junior Stanislas calmly dispatched.
Manager Roy Hodgson, however, has since come out to defend the centre-back following his costly mistake, insisting one error does not change the fact that he is still a quality player and that he has not suffered a dip in confidence.
The Breakdown
On Sakho, Hodgson told the Daily Mail and the rest of the media: “He has made enormous strides and he’s back to the player he was when Liverpool decided to spend a lot of money. That’s great for us because we’re benefiting from it.
“We as a team are playing well enough to get him recognised as a potential for the world champions [Sakho included in France’s latest squad].
“I don’t think he needs a boost in confidence. He is confident, as he should be. I don’t think during the time I’ve worked with him there has ever been a situation where I’ve seen his confidence fail.”
Against Bournemouth, Sakho cost his team a result and his moment of insanity during the game is right to be highlighted.
Sakho, though, is still a very solid defender who is pivotal to the team. He does has his moments of clumsiness like what he displayed at the Vitality Stadium.
However, the 28-year-old does way more good than harm for Hodgson’s side. In central defence, Sakho is aerially dominant, a strong tackler and extremely calm on the ball.
If the France international can eradicate a couple of things from his game, then he can go up another level at Crystal Palace.
