Southampton were pegged back in the last minute by Watford in their 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road, and Saints fans on Twitter were quick to have their say after it emerged that the club has now dropped 25 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season.
The south coast outfit looked to be heading towards three points that would have all-but preserved their top-flight status for another year, before Andre Gray popped up with just a couple of minutes remaining on the clock to level the scores.
It has something that has become a familiar story for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men, with late goals also conceded against Manchester United, Cardiff City and Burnley in 2019.
That is something the Austrian manager needs to work on next term should his team remain in the Premier League, and Saints supporters on social media are far from impressed with their side’s inability to hold onto an advantage.
While one labelled the stat as “horrific”, another said the club’s record in that respect is “absolutely abysmal”.
