The reports that Bayern have made a move to hijack Spurs' move for Genoa defender Dragusin this summer as they bid to reinforce their backline. Bayern's interest proves complicated for Spurs for a number of reasons. Notably, the club were linked with a deal to sign Eric Dier from Tottenham but one has to imagine that any move for Dragusin would scotch the potential of a transfer for the England international. Spurs are said to remain ahead in the race for the 21-year-old, but it is unclear if Bayern will be able to steal a march.

Genoa signed Dragusin permanently in the summer, having previously taken him on loan, and he has developed into one of their most important players. Since his debut, he has made 62 appearances for the Serie A club, and has also won 12 caps for Romania.

He appears to be one of the most in-demand footballers in the January market and Genoa are likely to hold out for the highest possible fee for their prized asset. It remains to be seen if he will end up in England or Germany, however.
