da blaze casino: When you’re the top dog in a division, that’s usually when you’re criticised most by rivals. That’s just how it goes in football sometimes. Success means you have a target on your back and last season Celtic weren’t just successful but historically one of the best Scottish teams ever.
da apostebet: They didn’t lose a match domestically and completed a clean sweep of trophies, brushing aside any challengers whether Aberdeen or Rangers.
Over the last couple of weeks Rangers chief Dave King has had a lot to say about the Hoops. First he suggested the gap between the Hoops and the Light Blues should be greater than it is right out, then he went on to say only two of Celtic’s six titles in a row counted due to lack of competition from the Ibrox.
They were strange comments to make after such a dominating season but the hope of Dave King is that Rangers close the gap on Celtic over the next 12 months.
We reckon that’s unlikely to happen and here are THREE reasons why the Hoops are likely to shut Rangers up over the coming season…
They’ll keep all of their best players
While Celtic are what you would consider a selling club, they only ever do so on their own terms. There haven’t been many occasions in the past that they’ve let a player go when they didn’t really want it to happen or they weren’t receiving a fantastic transfer fee.
That’ll be the case this summer and even if they do sell one or two first team members they’ll be keeping the vast majority of their squad together.
While it feels like Moussa Dembele has been linked with almost every club in the world, there are no immediate signs he’ll be on his way and his 32 goals last season, including five against Rangers, are absolutely not the ceiling for the young Frenchman.
With the likes of Tom Rogic, Stuart Armstrong and Jozo Simunovic all strong contenders to remain at the Hoops for the foreseeable future, it’s only really Patrick Roberts that Celtic have lost.
They’re unlikely to be any less untouchable
With that consistency in player will likely come great success. We can’t envision Celtic becoming complacent and being any less formidable over the coming season than they were last term. They showed a desire and a will to win well beyond anything we have seen in Scottish football for decades, with the ability to both thump teams convincingly and scrape wins and draws with battling performances.
Don’t forget Rangers didn’t beat the Hoops once last season, requiring a last minute equaliser to prevent a complete whitewash. With two 5-1 drubbings as part of those series of results, we can’t see the words of Dave King being able to stop a outcome in the Scottish Premiership next season.
They have significant spending power this summer
Added to their excellent squad and winning mentality, Celtic have another key advantage over Rangers next season; spending power. Although the Light Blues haven’t exactly been shy in the transfer market this summer bringing in players like Bruno Alves, Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera, Celtic have barely even got started.
So far they’ve only signed Jonny Hayes from Aberdeen and Kundai Benyu from Ipswich Town. They likely have barely scratched their spending budget so far with The Daily Mail reporting in April that Brendan Rodgers had around £15m to splash over the coming weeks and months.
That’s money that no Scottish club has had available for years and years and should ensure that Celtic’s dominance is even greater next June as it is today.
