da dobrowin: It would be fair to say that Lingard, 26, has had a poor season, one which has damaged his chances of being selected for England duty.
da dobrowin: Manchester United fans must also be sick of these constant apologies from their star players.
Fans want to see action on the pitch not meaningless statements made on social media to try and keep fans on side. Manchester United’s players are particularly bad at this and fans can see straight through it.
Lingard made 36 appearances this season, scoring five goals and registering four assists in the process.
Last season, by comparison, he got 13 goals and seven assists in 48 appearances.
There was a brief revival when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer joined as he scored twice in a 5-1 win over Cardiff but overall it has been a season to forget for Lingard.
The same can also can be said for Manchester United and a productive summer is required if they are to have any chance of challenging for the top four next time round.
